Derek Jones is a sound designer who has recently received his BFA in theatre from Seattle University. He is a performance-minded and musically adept artist with a love for creating three-dimensional soundscapes that transport audiences to other worlds. Derek's recent design credits include his work on Twelfth Night for the Uncharted Waters collaboration and Seattle University's pre-Covid production of 45 Plays for 45 Presidents, as well as working with Dominic CodyKramers as an audio engineer for Book-It Repertory Theatre's Everything Is Illuminated. Derek is also a professional voiceover artist and enjoys hopping onstage every now and again!

Joshua Legate

Joshua Legate is a designer of projections, lighting, and scenery for theatre, and film. Theatre work includes collaborations with institutions such as Galumpha Dance Company, Castleton Opera Festival, Valley Musical Theatre, Central Washington Dance Ensemble, Bare Bait Dance Company, Montana Repertory Theatre, The Ellensburg Opera, and many more. He is currently receiving his MFA from the University of Washington with an expected graduation of June 2021. Joshua was raised in Kalispell, Montana where he grew up hiking, camping, and producing theatre. When not in production, Joshua can be found at a soccer match or exploring the countryside with his dog, Penelope.

Renderings for She Kills Monsters
Kat Lopez-Johnson found theatre at a young age in their hometown of Sacramento, California. They started with acting in River City Theatre Company’s production of Bye Bye Birdie at age 10. Their interest in dress and clothing solidified in college as they came into their identity as a queer, gender non-conforming woman in the arts. Most recently, Kat designed costumes for Seattle University’s production of She Kills Monsters. Through theatrical design, Kat explores the ways that our presentation and clothing tell the stories of ourselves and our bodies.

Robert J. Matos (he/him) recently completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornish College of the Arts with an emphasis on production and lighting. His previous designs at Cornish College of the Arts include The Drowsy Chaperone directed by Rich Gray and choreographed by Kathryn Van Meter. He has also designed lights in various venues around Seattle such as Velocity Dance Studio and The Dandylion.

Lily Noto is a scenic/props designer and artist from Grass Valley, California. She is soon to hold a BA in theatre and arts leadership from Seattle University, where she has had the pleasure of painting and designing sets as well as creating props for numerous productions. Lily has also worked in marketing and acting, as she hopes to learn as much as she can about all aspects of theatre. Jasmine Ritter is a stage manager from Seattle University. Graduating with a BA in theatre with a minor in arts leadership. Jasmine has stage managed You on the Moors Now directed by Erin Murray and 45 Plays for 45 Presidents directed by Jane Nichols. She also worked as an ASM on a production of Mother Courage directed by Rosa Joshi. She loves being able to contribute to the theater through her role of supporting the entire team of designers, directors, and actors to make for experiences that keep people coming back production after production.

Martin Sanchez

Martin Sanchez is a designer, educator, and theatre artist who relocated to Seattle from Texas to complete his MFA in theatre design from the University of Washington. As a Latinx educator in the Texas public school system, he is often inspired by the diverse tapestry of culture, magic realism, and nature. Martin is a past recipient of the Marvin Sims Foundation to study at the Kennedy Center Design Intensive (KCACTF); was awarded the Artist Foundation Grant for Costume Design from the San Antonio Office of Cultural Affairs, and has been awarded the Dallas Theatre Center “Project Discovery Grant” for the past five years.

Chih-Hung Shao

Chih-Hung Shao was born and raised in Taiwan and began a new chapter of his life by pursuing his MFA in lighting design from University of Washington School of Drama in 2018. He developed his love of theatre after he accidentally put theatre arts on his college applications. He worked as a stage manager, then extended his passion to lighting while working with talented designers.
Light is tactile to him, it has shape, quality, texture, and dimension. Chih-Hung believes the most successful lighting design is achieved when we see the production as a whole, whether the light is grand or unnoticeable.

Rebecca Silva is a graduate from Seattle University with degrees in theatre and Spanish. They are a costume designer with many experiences designing, sewing, and assisting in the theater, on short films, and movie productions. They are excited to be working with new directors, actors, and production teams after graduation. In the design world, they have worked as a dresser, the head of the costumes, an assistant, and a designer. Their first experience with designing was the Seattle University production of Twelfth Night with actors and designers from Cornish, University of Washington, and Seattle University. They never knew that the theater lifestyle would lead to this profession, but they are so grateful for future opportunities and the experiences they have received in the past four years.

Rebecca Strom (she/her) is a scenic designer and artist in the PNW. She graduated from Cornish College of the Arts ‘21, with a BFA in performance production. Her background in fine arts has allowed her to excel in model making and scenic painting, and she hopes to continue her evolution in both mediums. Past credits include The Drowsy Chaperone (Cornish College of the Arts, 2021), Tuck Everlasting (Village Theatre Issaquah 2020), and RENT School Edition (Village Theatre Issaquah 2019). She is eager to be back in a theatre!

Jordan Twaddle is an eager emerging artist, designer, and certified English educator from middle Tennessee. In 2018, Jordan transitioned from education to working professionally in theatre. Jordan's influences are eclectic and widely ranged, but their style is always both intentional and playful with story, character, vibrant colors, and scale. Jordan has a keen interest in theatre, philosophy, literature, music, queer issues, and spectacle.

Sergio Vivas (he/him)
Born in downtown Chicago to Venezuelan and Colombian immigrants, I was into sports and I was first introduced to theatre in the second half of high school. I had no previous theatre experience. But I was accepted with open arms and I was able to grow into a very capable theatre technician within my first show. Since opening night of my first show, I have been enthralled by theatre, going on to being master carpenter, and technical director for multiple shows, and have now graduated from Cornish College of the Arts.

Ginger White

Ginger White was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and has been in love with the magic of costuming since she was two-years-old. Ginger is currently working on receiving her bachelor’s in drama design at the University of Washington in Seattle. Her focus is costume design for the theater, though she is eager to explore other mediums. When working on a project, Ginger values direct and speedy communication, as she feels there is no other way to develop a seamless vision. She also believes it is essential to develop a strong relationship with the actors, building trust and ensuring that they are both comfortable with and inspired by her design choices.

Christie Zhao

Christie Zhao is a director, an actor, a light designer, a singer and a video editor. She came to UW to study computer science, but discovered a passion for drama. While at school, she founded the Chinese Theater Club and provided theater opportunities to people from different backgrounds. During the pandemic, she has also been exploring virtual theater. Her last acting project was the devised play Bodies of Water directed by Sheila Daniels and Porscha Shaw. Now she is working on her senior capstone project The Good Person, an adaptation of The Good Person of Szechwan by Bertolt Brecht.
